Review: A Million Suns

Review: I was a little hesitant to read this book because I wasn't exactly a big fun of the first book, I can't usually start a series without ending it however; so I read this one fully intending to not like it. I'm happy to say that I was wrong and I really really enjoyed this book. I'm really happy with the way things are going with this book, and the revelation they have about the ship and Centauri Earth. I went through a bunch of different emotions reading this book, from: wonder to excitement, fear, betrayal, sadness, longing, loss, anger it was really full of emotions. It was fun getting to better know Amy and Elder, and seeing how Elder takes his responsibilities as Eldest, and Amy trying to become accustomed to being on Godspeed. There was so much chaos I didn't see how it would ever be resolved. I can't wait for the next book and the adventure that awaits them on Centauri Earth.

Breathless Reads Tour 2012

Last year Alana and I went to the Breathless Reads Tour at Books Of Wonder in NYC, so when we found out they would have another tour this year we knew we had to go again. We didn't have as good seats as we did last year so we didn't get as many good pictures, but, we got a few...enjoy!

Review: Mistwood

I know I said I wasn't going to post a review on this because Alana had already, but I decided to anyway.

Review: At first I was really confused by this book, I am not a fan of books that start out in a way where something is going on, but you as the reader don't know yet. It may seem hard to understand what I mean by this, but when you read the book you will see and understand. However; the rest of the book when I got to know the characters and see them develop I really began to like it. I watched it in pretty much one sitting, so it's not a difficult one to follow. I would have liked to see the romance a bit more prevalent and in the forefront, I'm hoping the characters from this one will be in the second one as well, so we can see more of their lives together. I would recommended this book, but not with immense enthusiasm.

Review: I bought this book back in February when Alana and I went to the "Breathless Reads" tour. Let me start by saying that Beth Revis is such a sweet person, and hysterical to boot! I really could not stop laughing every time it was her turn to ask a question, and I couldn't wait till it was her turn to answer. Anyway..on to the book, the reason I'm here. I really liked the cover of the book and that's what made me buy it initially. While waiting on line to purchase it I read the summary and thought wow, that's new. The book was certainly nothing like I have ever read before, and I was happy to be reading something a little different than my usual, vampires, demons, angels, mer-people etc. While there was a bit of a romance between Elder and Amy, I was upset that it wasn't played out quite as much as I had hoped. When we first come across Elder in the book, all I could think of is...Jeez, I wish he found my frozen body! The book is full of interesting and mysterious characters, and I felt a quick attachment to many of them...and hate too, as you will when you read the book. The map on the inside of the dust jacket is a great visual aid while reading the book, just so you can understand the levels and different areas, so definitely utilize that. All in all I would certainly recommend this book. There is a bit of sex in it, so maybe not too good for younger people, 14 and up I'd say. The only bad thing I can say about the book is that the romance wasn't so romantic..if you can understand that. But I guess given the circumstances, you wouldn't wanna be romantic either. Otherwise, the book was GREAT, read it! It out of this universe...yea, that was corny. :)
